Prague Fringe

26th May, 2010

Hello.

So. We has a little Work In Progress performance of Blood & Money at the lovely Live Theatre earlier this week. Oh the excitement and the nerves.

The cast (Jill Dellow, Faye Greenwell & Mat Hobbins) and director (Degna Stone) had been working for one week (evenings only) on getting the plays up on their feet and learning lines and blocking and so on....all very intense and I think we were all very apprehensive.

Degna was learning how to do the lights for the first time...because we really are trying to do this on a budget of nothing.

But then Amy delivered our set and it's gorgeous. She's really cleverly wound wool and balls of string around the stage - signifying the ties that bind....hmmmm...oh yes...very arty.....looks proper mint.

Like a real set for a real play.

You know I haven't had a set in such a long time. I'd almost forgotten what they look like.  So many 'fringe' shows seem to be black box or script in hand...all of which is great...but a little costume and a set is nice too.

Anyway...the cast did an amazing job...really rose to the occasion. And the audience were very generous and supportive and so now we have some tweaking and tidying to do....

Then off we go.

BA strikes and Ash clouds permitting.

It's been such a new experience this whole writer/producer role...and we've all managed so far without anyone punching me in the face.

Which is a positive sign.

So.

Fingers crossed for the Rascally Scoundrels abroad!

There are some photos flying about also so I'll see if I can find them and post them up.
