4PLay
8th April, 2009
So...tonight is the opening night of the much anticipated 4Play event.
Four half hour plays, by four exciting writers, starring four brilliant young actors..directed by one exciting and brilliant director.
Opening at the Alnwick Playhouse we have:
When Skies are Grey by Alison Carr.
One Shot by Louise Taylor
Smoke & Mirrors by Rosalind Wyllie
The Tufty Club by Lee Mattinson
They are all directed by Helen Ferguson and all star the following young gifted superstars of the future:
Rebecca Spears
Anna Bolton
Heather Broadley
Richard Luke
Each actor has a lead in each play and all four appear in all four plays...so the cast have their work cut out for them changing personalities every half hour and trying to remember their lines.....I'm sort of excited.
This is the first opening night when I've not been too nervous....YET...I think maybe because there are four writers and so it is a shared evening....the focus isn't really on me at all...so...no nerves....but it will come...somewhere between here and Alnwick at about 7pm tonight I will probably start feeling very ill.
Anyhoo...stroke a rabbits foot, tickle a buddha's tummy, walk through a path of black cats or whatever it is that you do to bring people good fortune!
I'll let you know how it goes...and if/when there are reviews I'll stick them up too.
Bye Bye
